We got up and ready very early. It was easy because we had done all our packing the night before and just needed to slip on some clean clothes. We headed to the station and got ourselves on a train to Brussels, leaving only 10-15 minutes after we got to the station.
We got to Brussels and checked in to our Eurostar train, and then made the trip underwater and back to London. I was very happy to be heading back, seeing family, familiar faces, and generally having a relax and recoup after everything.
We got to the station and caught the tube over to Holborn. The familiarity of it was great. We had arrived at a city and we didn't need to go find a tourist info place for a map, or a random hostel where we had to check in to a room.
We arrived at Karen´s flat and she welcomed us at the door. Ah, how good to be back. And best of all, our little cousin Aiden was there. Wow, he had grown so much since we had been there last. He was like a little person now (well, moreso, anyway). He could smile, focus on things, and he stared at things too. We had missed him so much.
We set off, after freshening up, to Red Lion Square for some lunch. We picked up some sushi from a new Japanese place that opened up, and made our way down. It was lovely sitting in the park once more, some nice London weather around us. I gave Dani a call on Karen´s phone to tell her to come join us there. This, of course, was the big surprise. We had booked ourselves back two days earlier than we had let her know. I liked the response I got from her.
We went over to Coram´s Field afterwards and stayed for a short time before heading back to the flat. Dani and Stacey (a school friend from Perth who was staying here with her) made their way over to meet us at the flat. We hung around, had some wine and some dinner, and then the four of us youngens went off to see one of Dani´s friends play a set at some bar in Camden.
It was nice to be going out in London again, although I could have equally just sat in all night and chilled. We tubed over and made it to the Lock Tavern where we saw the guy play. We got cider and sat for a while outside, talking to some randoms next to us. It was a fun night, and we didn´t stay out too late.
