So, here we are in Hong Kong International Airport. Our first flight, Perth to HK, wasn't too bad. Flight time of about seven hours, some sleep, music listening, reading and watching an episode of Reaper and the pilot of SG Atlantis.
Hong Kong airport isn't too bad. It's an impressive building, busy aerodrome and some interesting modern art sculptures inside but I think I prefer Changi though, better shopping and facilities. They do have free wi-fi here though so we're trying to make the best of it. We had some food, some deep fried chicken ramen, and then went to find a quiet spot to sit. Em's current laptop, our beautiful E-Pc, ran out of battery apparently before we left so we used my new Mac and watched streaming episodes of Reaper (8-10) from 56.com. Great way to pass some transit time!
Could only find two bottle stores to try and get the boozes that Dani asked us for but neither had anything remotely similar. They pretty much had high-end whiskey, some wine, and baileys =/ Might try pick up the Absynthe and Jager at Heathrow before we go through immigration.
We finally realised after passing the add for free wi-fi for the 4th or more time that there's a station at gate 24 where you can charge your computer batteries. So much for spending half an hour looking around for power points to plug into. And so now we're here, charging our babies, typing our blogs and checking all those important internet things that we've missed out on all day.
In an attempt to defeat jetlag before it occurs we've decided to stay awake till 3am Perth/HK time which is 8pm London time. If we then sleep the rest of the flight, we should be going well on our path to adjusting the ol' internal clocks. Can't wait to bored the next plane and get to London, see our new baby cousin, Karen, Dani, Mum and Bobba, and celebrate all together.
